The LIFE Program
Ready to go more places with Metro? Qualifying LA County residents can enjoy 20 free rides every month on Metro or a discounted pass on another participating transit agency.
Sign up for the LIFE Program now and get unlimited free rides for the first 90 days!
How It Works
- Free pass for the first 90 days.
Once approved, a 90-day pass for unlimited free rides will be added automatically to your TAP card and can be used on any participating transit system. Plus, you’ll be able to purchase fare products on participating transit systems at a reduced cost.
- Get 20 free rides every month.
After your first 90 days, you can add 20 free regional rides onto your TAP card every month by visiting Culver City City Hall, the Transportation Department Facilities, your local TAP vendor, visiting the TAP website, or calling 866.827.8646 OR riders can apply their LIFE subsidy toward the purchase of an EZ pass.
- Save with fare capping.
After 20 rides have been used, you can pay for each ride by adding Stored Value to your TAP card. Ride for free after three rides in one day and 11 rides in a week.
- Helpful tip: Register your TAP card for balance protection (additional step).
- Eligible riders include adult Regular riders, Senior/Disabled/Medicare (S/D/M), K-12 students, and College/Vocational students who are pre-qualified by a participating community-based agency. Reduced-Fare customers (i.e. S/D/M, K-12 students, and College/Vocations students) need to present a reduced-fare TAP card. Apply for a reduced-fare TAP card.
What can I buy with my LIFE subsidy?
A purchase made using your LIFE subsidy must equal or exceed the benefit's value. You can load one of the following options each month on your LIFE-registered TAP card:
